I am a woman and I have not encountered nearly as many problems in my profession as you have. In photography women were often welcomed because it involved tedious work with chemicals that could damage clothes. I was not criticized by men (although that may be because I was not particularly trying to make a name for myself).
The difference between us is, you are into an performing art, and I'm into a visual art. You use your voice, and I use my hands.
